Bloatware leaves an otherwise nice phone crippled,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: HTC Desire 626S No Contract Phone White (Virgin Mobile) (Wireless Phone)EDIT
I am completely fed up with this phone and its bloated crap. I have 1, yes 1 single app that is 2.88 MB installed on internal storage. I can't install anything anymore because the rest of the bloat that I cannot get rid of takes up almost 4 GB. I'm done with this phone. I'll try rooting it and see if I don't brick it, but other than that this phone is getting replaced ASAP.
Look, everything good you've read about the phone is true. I'm not about to rehash what others have said. I like the phone.
The bloatware on this phone is obtrusively large. I saw someone's highly rated post saying you're left with 3 GB of space. I don't know how she did it as I can't get mine under 7.3 GB used, but I have moved all the crap I can back to the "factory version" to save as much space as possible and yet I"m still constantly having to find more stuff to delete to avoid the annoying lack of space messages. I've had to remove apps I... Read more

Good for the Pricepoint,

This review is from: HTC Desire 626S No Contract Phone White (Virgin Mobile) (Wireless Phone)First and foremost, this is a virgin mobile phone, so make sure that is what you are looking for.
I came to this phone from a Galaxy S3, which I had enjoyed quite a bit. The HTC interface was not as intuitive as the samsung interface, but there's nothing wrong with it. The phone is fairly fast, and I've never had problems with it having any lag or apps running slowly. So far, the battery life has been noticably better for me than that of the Galaxy, so that has been a very pleasant surprise.
My biggest complaint with this phone is the ridiculous amount of bloat-ware that came reinstalled on it. The phone only has 8 gigs of storage space availible on the phone, and about 3.5 gigs of that were taken up by apps and drivers that I can't uninstall, which severely limits the amount of apps and music that you could put on this phone.

Best low end phone.,
This review is from: HTC Desire 626S No Contract Phone White (Virgin Mobile) (Wireless Phone)I got THE HTC DESIRE 626 on Sale for $99 from best buy after reading many negative reviews. Despite the poor reviews I bought the phone because the hardware speaks for itself. The biggest advantage this phone has over the Moto E is the 1.5gb of RAM. The extra memory really makes the phone speedy and you don't have to refresh screens so often. On the downside the phone is flooded with bloatware from HTC and doesn't come with some common Google Apps. There are about 20 HTC APPS that cannot be removed however after updating everything you're left with about 3gb of internal storage. On the bright side the phone holds an impressive 200gb external SD CARD, making this a media powerhouse. I played 2 high end games to test the hardware and they both ran fine. This is a very elegant looking phone with an impressive 5 inch display. Perfect for fitting in your pocket. It's made of all plastic and very slippery so I highly recommend a rugged case otherwise it will slip out of your hands. Bottom... Read more
