Description

Humidor is the world's most versatile virtual reality headset that works with any 4-6" iPhone/android/windows smartphone to offer truly immersive 360° games, videos (watch 3d movies with big screen theater experience), photos and unique virtual reality experiences. It is compatible with over 300+ google cardboard iOS/android apps on apple app store and google play store. There is also a free humidor VR player iOS/android app to view normal 2D, 3D or 360° videos. Similar to oculus rift and Samsung gear VR, it is better than google cardboard (and similar devices) for its ergonomic, lightweight and well ventilated design which offers unparalleled comfort even for extended wear. Our custom designed VR lenses (which are 70% larger than google cardboard's) offer industry leading 100° field of view (FOV) and optical clarity to give you the best picture and immersive experience. Advanced optical adjustments allow you to fine-tune focus for nearsightedness and farsightedness, interpapillary distance (IPD) and immersion to cater to your viewing needs. Unlike oculus rift, you don't need to be tethered to the computer. It is wireless and battery-free to give you ultimate freedom of movement. It works with any smartphone, unlike Samsung gear VR which only works with select Samsung phones. Humidor is the most versatile VR headset and probably the best head mount display (HMD) for virtual reality. You won't regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great potential, bad implementation, April 14, 2016

This headset shows good intentions, but the design is highly flawed. I was very excited to try out this product and tried not to be biased by other reviews here and other places online. The biggest complaint that I've encountered is that the headset is too small, more fit for a child rather than an adult. I ignored this and well...BIG mistake. I would say that I have an average sized head and face so I figured that this would fit comfortably, but I quickly found that the cushion collapses too easily which left me with a subtle ache in my face after more than a few minutes.

I started by testing the headset with the Homido Center and Video player. For a couple of minutes it showed potential, however after trying to get the focus correct and failing miserably I was very disappointed. In the few instances that I was able to get things in-focus the experience was not so bad. InMind VR in particular raised my hopes, but after further testing I found that the view could not be... 4.0 out of 5 stars A very good low cost alternative to VR, October 17, 2017

This review is from: Homido HOMIDO1 Virtual Reality Headset for Smartphone (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this primarily because I wanted to run VR off of my iPhone, and the cardboard type systems such as this are pretty much the only option. Anyways it's pretty simple to use. The phone slides right in. I have an iPhone 6 and I was able to fit it with or without the case and the headset it quite firm and comfortable. It's also quite easy to attatch headphones and your phone charger to your phone while it's in the headset, which is good because the VR seems to take a lot of battery power.

Now the downsides:
Since it is essentially two lenses directing an image directly from your phone, your phone screen needs to be pretty clean or you'll see the dirt spots up close when you wear the headset. Because if the screen quality of the iPhone, there's also a slight screen door effect, and depending on the source of the content, it never quite comes into focus no matter how much I adjust it. The other problem is that there is really no way to control the phone once you're... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great on my Oneplus One, July 14, 2015

These fit my 5.5" Oneplus One perfectly, I don't understand the reviews that say otherwise. The lack of the magnet, and the hassle of the way you insert your phone are the only negative things I see, but most apps use head movements now, and you really don't have to worry about your phone falling out, ever! The lenses are a big upgrade from the cardboard lenses, and the field of view is much larger. Using the headstraps and my headphones is really immersive. The Homido app does not work correctly, but there are many other vr apps that you can use instead until they update it. For the reviews that mention resolution, that depends on your phone. Since you are looking up close on your tiny screen, the dpi makes a difference. You will be much better off with at least a 1080 screen. I have to admit that my head is on the larger side, but this headset fit me fine. They also come with a very sturdy carry case.
