5.0 out of 5 stars Good buy for the price, February 1, 2018

For the price, it's pretty good. Tight fit on the phone. Has button to wake phone up if it starts to dim out to sleep. Optics aren't bad with adjustments for focus and distance. I'm glad I bought it for an entry level VR experience.

Samsung Galaxy S5 fites perfectly even with a case. I have an Oculus Rift Dev Kit 2 and I must say this rivals it. I can't compare this particular cardboard to any of other brands as I've never used them, but I'm very happy with this. The company is fantastic to work with. The first package I received was missing the magnet component, but the seller immediately corrected the issue. I know this is the product review section but the manufacturer and distributor are the same. I would recommend reinforcing the cardboard with some tape (I used electrical since I bought the black version), and removing the rubber band... the phone stays securely in place and is much easier to remove without it. The frequent taking in and out to perform certain [necessary] functions eventually compromise the top of the cardboard, bending and creating creases but overall this is well worth the price. I'm having a great time experiencing what's available and also developing my own VR apps. I can't wait to see... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars HUGE disappointment, December 5, 2018

I had so looked forward to my first VR headset. Chose this one because of the high feedback ratings. WRONG!

Why so disappointed?
1: looks and feels really CHEAP while the headset is far from cheap (middle of the road, price-wise). Hard plastic that will probably break the first time it drops on a hard floor.
2: adjustment of lenses is clunky and not even enough for my 1.5 diopter strength glasses (not at all strong).
3: PD adjustment is just as clunky
4: manual refers to a test app on Android or iOS but they don't tell you the NAME of the app. Searched for "pansonite" on both and came up empty
5: there's a button on the device that they call "Capacitive touch button". Ummm... no. Nothing capacitive about it, just a spring loaded button that doesn't even DO anything. No idea how to interact with apps that expect some click input.
6: and the worst: even without the above cons, there's a HUGE light leak all around my iPhone 8! Would be very easy... Read more
